Used to provide a smooth channel for disc brake pads to ride in and to reduce vibration and rattling. This clip snaps onto the steering knuckle abutment or brake caliper bracket.

From the factory these clips were not on all vehicles. There was a TSB which Audi added the shim to prevent squealing in the front brakes. There are 3 versions of the brake shim. This one is the small casting lip version 2. Part number: 4M0615269B
